1. Optimize Engine Room Environment: Ensure Basic Heat Dissipation Conditions

  1. Reasonably Plan Engine Room Layout

Ensure sufficient space is reserved in the air compressor engine room. A gap of 1-1.5 meters must be kept between equipment units and between equipment and walls for heat dissipation and maintenance, to avoid heat accumulation due to cramped space.

  1. Ensure Smooth Ventilation in the Engine Room

Check if the engine room doors, windows, and shutters can be opened normally, and confirm the operating status of exhaust fans. Ensure air convection between the inside and outside of the engine room to expel internal hot air in a timely manner.

  1. Targeted Maintenance of Heat Dissipation Components for Air-Cooled Air Compressors

  • Regularly inspect the fins on the radiator surface: If there is dirt accumulation (which affects heat dissipation), use low-pressure compressed air to blow backwards along the direction of the fins to remove dust until the fins return to their original metallic color. If the fins are corroded, promptly assess whether the radiator assembly needs to be replaced.

  • Inspect the cooling fan: Confirm that the fan operates normally, check for motor faults, and repair or replace components in a timely manner if issues are found.

2. Maintain the Lubrication System: Avoid High Temperatures Caused by Lubrication Failure

  1. Regularly Inspect the Condition of Lubricating Oil

  • When the equipment is in operation, the oil level must not be lower than the low-level mark on the oil sight glass;

  • After the equipment is shut down and depressurized (when the lubricating oil is static), the oil level should be slightly higher than the high-level mark.

  1. Replace Lubricating Oil on Schedule

In accordance with the requirements in the equipment operation manual, replace the lubricating oil every 1,000-2,000 operating hours or every six months. This ensures the cleanliness and lubricating performance of the oil, and prevents reduced heat dissipation and lubrication efficiency caused by oil aging or deterioration.

3. Replace Core Consumables: Prevent Heat Accumulation Due to Blockage

  1. Regularly Inspect and Replace the "Three Filters"

Blockage of the "Three Filters" (air filter element, oil-air separator element, oil filter element) is a major cause of high temperatures:

  • A clogged air filter reduces air output;

  • A clogged oil filter decreases the flow of cooling fluid (lubricating oil);

  • A clogged oil-air separator increases internal pressure.

Therefore:

  • Inspect the filter elements every 1,000-1,500 operating hours;

  • Promptly replace failed filter elements based on the alarm signal from the differential pressure switch.

4. Inspect Key Components: Reduce Heat Generation from Mechanical Failures

  1. Inspect Air Compressor Head Bearings

Increased wear of head bearings will lead to higher heat generation. Generally, head bearings need to be replaced after 20,000-24,000 operating hours. Regularly check for signs of wear.

  1. Inspect Belts and Couplings

  • High temperatures easily cause degradation of polymer-based components such as belts and couplings. Inspect belts for cracks and wear, and replace them promptly if damage is severe;

  • Check for signs of wear on couplings to avoid unexpected shutdowns due to component failure.
